The Worst Data Breaches Of All Time

By David S. Chang

Cybersecurity has grown to be a big priority. Every year hackers use more sophisticated tools to steal data from different organizations and companies. It hasn’t been just a recent phenomenon.

A decade ago, CardSystems Solutions was hacked, disclosing the credit card records of forty million customers. This is one of the largest cybersecurity breaches in history.

CardSystems Solutions is a premier payment processor for American Express, MasterCard and Visa, impacting virtually everyone that has a credit card. The corporation was hacked via an SQL Trojan attack, which took advantage of the lack of encryption on private information.

In 2014, Home Depot fell prey to an assault when their Point-of-Sales (POS) systems were contaminated with malware that was perceived as anti-virus software. Cybercriminals stole debit and credit card details impacting fifty-six million cards.

In 2011, the popular game console Sony PlayStation had its network hacked. It is the gaming community’s worst-ever information breach. Hackers acquired accessibility to the home addresses, email messages, passwords, credit card numbers, full names, purchase history and PSN/Qriocity log-ins and passwords of about seventy-seven million accounts. The cause of the hack continues to be unknown.

Things To Consider When Choosing Cyber Protection Companies

All companies need to be concerned with cybersecurity, as the risk of a data breach is expanding every day. It is important to choose the right cybersecurity company. Make sure the agency you choose is reputable and dependable, like VOS.

The agency will have access to all of your confidential details, and will also be providing them with use of your company’s networks and systems. Don’t decide on an agency without having done all the essential research and background record checks.

Choose a cybersecurity agency that has practical experience. Talk to their customers, look at their work history, and see what experiences other businesses have had.

Lastly, go through the security services the agency offers and the strategies they utilize. You’ll want an agency that makes use of various safety approaches while making certain that your company is completely well prepared should a breach occur.
